February on Habboon!
Posted by pespidoge on the 6th of February 2024
Love is in the air, alongside millions of airborne viruses and diseases that could kill you momutarily. That is why it's best to stay in doors, locked away, and playing Habboon. Just like last month, this article will be a brief rundown on what to expect on Habboon in terms of catalog rotations and more.
Rare Rotations for February!
Keeping in terms with the weekly rare rotations (that have been on time so far... for now!), we'll also be disclosing the weekly rare releases for the month. This is an attempt to decrease the panic and fear level among users who hold onto their currencies in fear of something better coming out the next week. While the prices won't be disclosed, you'll have a general idea on what you'll be possibly spending on. This should allow you to consider purchasing rares and then planning to make your wealth back in time for next month's announced rare drops.

Rare Clothing Rotations for February!
A recent rotation page that we've introduced is the Rare Clothing rotations. The performance of this so far has been great. The entire point is to bring back ONE clothing item that was likely released for diamonds in the past and offer it for credits so that more users have the chance of purchasing it for wear/trade. To ensure fairness, this will stay to one release per week so far.
02/24:
- Muay Thai Outfit
09/24:
- Heart Boppers
16/24:
- Dragon Mask
23/24
- Roller Skates
Badge Store Updates
As already seen, Badge of the Week has returned. Each week, we'll upload the winning 3 badges into the catalog for the price of 1000 credits and 1000 duckets. We've also introduced a new catalog page too called "Returning Badges". This is a rotation of previous BOTW badges from the last decade being rotated in the catalog. These rotations are randomized and not dated but will ensure new/returning users a chance to also get these badges that haven't been obtainable for years.
Supercharged Rares
So, you've probably heard by now if you care about rares what happened earlier today. A surprise rare release method was tested (this was done previously with a unreleased rare, the Holo-Dragon), and users have provided feedback on this. The process behind this was feedback that was suggested by a few users for a similar idea regarding the Rare Feedback Form that was posted at the start of the year. A few lessons have been learned from this, such as timezone fairness, price point, buy limitation etc. However, some speculation on this has been a bit extreme.
The amount of active rares was not dramatically increased and it has retained no more than a 35% increase in total rares. However, this idea will be worked with and tested again in the future. If you're holding onto your currencies in fear of a new rare coming soon, don't worry. We'll likely try this once a month until it works properly in hopes of achieving the purpose of this goal (introducing rares that mostly sit on banned/cleaned accounts) and get it right eventually. Thanks for the feedback regarding this.
Rare Discussion
While you're reading this article, I'll take this time to quickly discuss some brief points that were brought up in the Rare Feedback Form (which all users had the opportunity to fill and provide feedback, rather than go unheard).
A lot of users raised the point that some rares are hard to obtain because of banned accounts and hoarders, requesting the reintroduction of rares into the economy. We've been working with this through the Snowflake Shop and now the rare rotations. As time goes on, we'll begin to add more desired rares (which will be publicly disclosed in an article like this to prevent fear) and allow people the chance to obtain these rares. However, just because you're a user who was seeking this rare and did not manage to get it in time or cannot afford it, shouldn't cloud your judgment on reintroducing these rares. As a staff member, the rare releases are viewed with the statistics of credits, duckets, diamonds and active users. It is easy to get lost in thought as a user who seeks a specific rare (or holds onto a rare, in hopes of a dramatic price increase amongst the community for quick riches) and get angry over releases.
Rare releases are done for the overall health of the economy and allowing interesting trades and bets to take place. Just because you paid 30,000 diamonds for a rare last week and now it's in the catalog for 800,000 credits doesn't mean you should be upset. Eventually, it'll go up in value again (maybe it'll never meet the value it once was or maybe it'll exceed that value), but every time you buy a rare from the marketplace or a user you should anticipate it possibly releasing in the future. Set collections should be a hobby for you to fulfill by collecting the sets, not in hopes of being the only user with the rare. They're rares, sets will always be impressive when completed, no matter the rare. Eventually users will quit, get banned or empty their items, and rares will get more scarce over time, as they always have done.
Other factors are always in play too. Duckets are used to control the amount of rares that are redistributed into the economy of already released rares to ensure that they don't over saturate the market and cause the rare to lose that 'special' feel while also ensuring they're a few more for people to seek. Duckets will continue to be used to prevent people from logging in once a week and hording rare releases, hence the expensive ducket prices at the moment. However, we'll lower the duckets alongside the average ducket amount lowering over time. Duckets also encourage users to go out their way to find other users with the duckets, if they don't personally have them, and engage in user trade for someone to buy it for them (for a price).
More feedback is always appreciated, and we'll be sure to discuss the feedback on the hotel, in an Infobus, and on this monthly article. Make sure to click here to fill out the feedback form.
Much love,
pespidoge.
Nice updates!
